Trooper from iron maiden

The Iron Maiden Trooper was born out of a collaboration between British heavy metal band Iron Maiden and British brewery Robinsons. Far from being just another drink from the famous endorser, Robinsons partnered with singer Bruce Dickinson to choose the best ingredients for this beer.

The light brigade charge that inspired the Iron Maiden song The Trooper took place at the Battle of Balaclava (1854) during the Crimean War, when 600 British cavalry bravely charged against massive Russian artillery. Brave and reckless attack by the commander Lord Raglan.

Exerpts from the show:

The Alconauts:  What would you say would be the most memorable experience you had being on tour with Iron Maiden?

Michael:  I decided after the show in Russia, instead of going back to my own hotel and going to bed I went out with two female Russian neurologists and got absolutely shit-faced and I woke up in one of their hotels at 10 am.  The issue with that is that bus call was at 8 am from my hotel which was 20 minutes away.

The Alconauts:  You missed the plane.

Michael:  I missed the plane.  I was the only person who managed to do that and the band were not very happy about it of course.  It was terrible, it was a bad bad decision, but luckily it was not too much of an issue with it because the next show was in Finland and it wasn't for three days ...
